What exactly is this team?
My launch team is a group of readers who are ready and willing (and eager!) to get the word out on the street about my books. They are my first readers, my inside circle, my front lines, my most enthusiastic fans.
What am I looking for in launch team members?
I’m looking for readers who have read and are excited about my books, and want to share that excitement.
What do members receive?
As a launch team member, you will receive free eBook advanced copies of all my novels.
Members will also receive periodic emails from me to keep up-to-date on the latest happenings and insider information, including being the first to see new covers, hearing about new titles, reading snippets of my early drafts, helping me name characters, choosing settings, and more.
What do members need to do?
Members are asked to read the book prior to release, then–if you like it (if you don’t like it, you aren’t required to do anything)–spread the word, as far and wide as possible!
The most important thing launch team members do is write a brief review for Amazon, Goodreads, and any other online review site you’d like. It doesn’t need to be long, just a couple sentences saying what you liked about the book.
Beyond that, anything else you do is icing on the cake! Here are some ideas, but none of these are mandatory. Whatever you feel comfortable with. The biggest help is the review!
- Share the books on your social media sites
- Blog about the books
- Ask your local bookstore to carry the books
- Direct people to my website
- Donate a copy to your local library
- Purchase copies to give as gifts
